Holidays

Among other things, here’s what I’m looking forward to over the next several weeks:

-Flying to Atlanta on Wednesday to see our dear friends the Huntons
-Seeing U2 next Saturday night in Atlanta
-Eating lots of food on Thanksgiving with the Stegers
-Going to the Nutcracker at the Walton Arts Center after Thanksgiving
-Driving around looking at Christmas Lights, especially at the Square
-Various Christmas parties!
-Having a WHOLE WEEK off for Christmas
-Spending quality time with family during the holidays
-Singing Christmas carols “in the round” at the Grove

I know this is a trite phrase, but seriously, I cannot believe its November and time for “the holidays.” Stores and such are decorating early to boost giving to charities like Salvation Army, but even though it is “early,” I know it really is that time of year. I just can’t believe it. It seems like it should still be May. ;)

Mom posted a picture the other day of the Japanese Maple in her front yard. I saw it when we were home last week. Honestly, there are red leaves, ready for Fall, and then at the top of the tree there are NEW LEAVES, like Spring! How confusing!
