Good Friday.

5 But he was pierced for our transgressions,
he was crushed for our iniquities; the
punishment that brought us peace was
upon him, and by his wounds we are healed.
Isaiah 53:5

What do you see in this passage? Here are the words I see: pierced, our transgressions, brought us peace, his wounds, and healed.

Jesus took the burden of my sin by dying a horrific death. I often wondered why this day was called "good" Friday in light of the pain and suffering Christ endured. However, I have come to be truly amazed and humbled by the truth that is wrapped up in the name of today's holiday. What a GOOD God we have.

Jesus BROUGHT US PEACE through His death. He died in order to bring us to God. And through His death, we are HEALED.
