Valentines Day...in Russia
Another "sweet" story of how the Lord is using my friends, the Harts, in Ekaterinburg, Russia. Imagine making 450 homemade valentines!!! Also, if you happened to read my post a few weeks ago about this family, here's a little update in Lori's words about their ministry in the Loseeny Orphanage.
"Orphanage Bible Study--Last Wednesday, we met with the children in Loseeny for Bible Study/Kids' Club. The older kids met together for a more "formal" Bible study time, and the younger kids met together for a more "informal" format (like our Kids' Clubs here in the city). There were about thirty kids in the older group, and we had 33 kids in the younger group. Olesya led the older group (Sergei was sick), and Rusty and I led the younger group. We had a great time!! At first the kids were very quiet and reserved, because I don't think they knew quite what to expect, but they quickly warmed up to us, and joined in the games. They listened very intently to the story of creation, and we were surprised at how much they already knew!! Even the adults wanted to join in--as we made our way down the hall to the room where we were going to meet, the head cook came out of the kitchen and told us that she wanted to see what was going on. She came with us to the room, and stayed to hear the story! REQUEST: Pray that our time with these kids will be fruitful. Also, pray for the director of the orphanage, Anatoly Nikolaivich. He has many responsibilities, and always seems to have the kids' best interests at heart. Pray that while we are working there we would not only minister to the kids and teachers, but also to him in a special way."
