Rainy Weekend
Friday, Andrew and I went with some friends to see Michael Phelps at Disney. It was his first public appearance in the US since the Olympics. We had a great spot in front of the train station on Main Street USA, and then after the parade was over we went and watched him do interviews with the press. I LOVE the swimming events at the Summer Olympics, and this year it was so great to watch Phelps do so well. I have a tie for my favorite moments - when the USA Relay team beat France, and when Phelps won by .01 seconds. He wasn't signing autographs, but Andrew got some good pics. Andrew posted more pics on Facebook if you're interested.
Michael and Mickey in the parade.
Michael passing out his cover issue of Sports Illustrated to the kids that were in the parade with him. I'm sure all of this is so surreal for him. He is so down to earth.
While we were at Disney, we also got to go to Hollywood Studios to ride the new Toy Story ride. The line was really long, but the ride was so fun! Definitely worth standing in line if you can't get a FastPass. Thanks, by the way, to Rachel, Kristy, and Maria who let us get in for free!!! And...to John, who let me have the day off. :)
We are in the thick of Hurricane Season here in Florida. Fay dropped tons of rain on Orlando and the East Coast. Even though Fay is gone, we're still getting TONS of rain. It has its pros and cons, definitely. I had a nice long nap today during a thunderstorm. It was wonderful. However, there are lots of people dealing with flooding and water damage. We're all keeping our eyes on Hanna to see what she's going to do. And, praying for the Gulf with Gustav on its way there.
Today is the start of College Football season, which more than any other time of the year makes me miss Arkansas and living in Fayetteville. Here is where I wish I was today (even in the rain):

I saw on Kelly's blog that they've painted a Razorback in the center of the field. About time!!!!
This post is getting kindof long, but I wanted to say THANK YOU so much for all the sweet comments about the baby on the way! I keep saying this, but we are so excited! We have a few stressful situations going on (current housing situation is the big frustration right now...but that's for another post), so I've been doing all I can to stay calm and to not stress. Jesus says we can cast our cares on Him for He cares for us. So that is exactly what I've been trying to focus on. I also have some funny (well, not really that funny) stories about pregnancy woes. Those will also have to wait for later.
Biggest Craving: Apples! This is so weird for me because I usually don't like apples that much. On multiple occasions, they've been the only thing I can think of that won't make me feel sick.
Biggest Food Aversion: Saltines! We walked by a display of Saltines at Walmart today and I thought I was going to gag. Can't handle the saltines right now.
Okay, I think I've rambled long enough for one evening. Razorback game is starting in 30 minutes. Go Hogs Go! Chao.
